Teaching
I really enjoy teaching photography and have a number of regular students whom I see as both groups and individuals. If you would like to improve your photography and would like to know more, please get in touch. My teaching will be entirely tailored to your individual needs and interests and can be anything from one hour per month to several hours per week. Just drop me a line via my contact page.
Here's what some of my students say:
"I cannot recommend Mark as a tutor enough. Not only is he an inspiring artist. But his teaching is also knowledgeable and profound, his patience with students seemingly endless. Mark would always support your own photographic interests and guide you gently through techniques and the rules of photography (and also how and when to break them). His warm, cordial, and accommodating personality creates a relaxed and pleasant environment for all participants. To do a workshop with Mark is always a joy. "
Romina Metz, Liverpool
I have been studying in a group with Mark since September 2018. Through project-based work, he has taught us a wide range of techniques and shown us how crucial good composition is. He is very encouraging and positive but always gives an honest critique of our work. He is a superb photographer and I highly recommend him.
Christine Reynolds, Formby
Mark is a thorough and conscientious photographer/tutor with a meticulous eye for detail. He has a flair for the creative aspects of the craft whilst never losing sight of the need for technical competence. He is inspiring in his engagement and instils realistic belief in potential for development in his students.
Phillip Jones, London
Mark is a brilliant teacher. He has a lovely relaxed style and is happy to answer any questions and explain details. I have increased my photographic knowledge, since taking classes with Mark, and I now know how to use my digital camera much more effectively.
The various projects that have been set have given me an opportunity to try different genres that I might not necessarily have tried and, in some cases, have really developed a liking for.
I highly recommend him!
